It’s actually hilarious that pretty much every year, a crazy Mi Vida Loca Valentines Day card pops up. Thanks to the awesome Rocky Riveraand Justin Loca, I was tagged on this on both Instagram and Facebook.
At some point I guess it will be less surreal to see my face on stuff like this. I know it gets old for me to keep mentioning how amazed I am that this film still gets so much love but it’s true!
Of course my core message on Valentines Day or any other day, is to LOVE. First love yourself, then others.
I posted this on Facebook one day and I think it fully describes what I mean.
“I love me. There. I said it. This is not a reason or excuse to be a bi@T#. THIS is a statement that allows me to create boundaries if needed but not be afraid of deeply loving others. I have cried my eyeballs out, laughed hysterically at myself, screamed, stomped and been speechless, all because I did not want to let love evolve. In the end, learning to love myself has allowed me the freedom to accept so much more joy into my life and allows me to put so much more out there. Loving yourself doesn’t lead to treating others like dirt. It leads to a level of honor and respect for the human condition. It leads to a “FEAR LESS” way of life. I love you. I hope today, YOU love you too.”
Don’t let February 14 of ANY year dictate the kind of lover you are. Just be great. Be extraordinary, because after all, that’s who you ARE.
