Healing a Broken Heart… Yoga Style
@carriehensley in Anahata meditation |
Have you ever been so heartbroken that you felt the actual pain in your chest? I have and it was HARD to get over. The only cure for heartbreak is love. Love covers over a multitude of sin. Love is the ultimate cure. To find the strength to overcome loss of love, I found I had to dig deep and truly love myself. I began to explore various forms of healing and meditation was at the top of my list.
The 7 Chakras are the energy centers in our body in which energy flows through. The Anahata Meditation focuses on the fourth chakra, the heart chakra. Its physical location is the heart, upper chest, and upper back. Energetically, this is is the place where unconditional love, compassion, peace, and acceptance is centered.
- Sit cross-legged in a comfortable position on the floor. Your head, neck and spine should be in a straight line. If you cannot sit on the floor, sit on a chair.
- Let the tips of your index finger and thumb touch.
- Put your left hand on your left knee and your right hand in front of the lower part of your breast bone (so a bit above the solar plexus).
- Close your eyes
- Get conscious about your breath. Breathe deeply through your nose.
- Concentrate on the Heart chakra at the spine, level with the heart.
- Chant the sound YAM.
You can find out more about chakras HERE.
If sound is your “thing” you can read about the LOVE frequency HERE.
The most important thing about the healing of a heart is to remember that you ARE LOVE. Love lives inside and all around you. Nurture yourself in body, mind and spirit. Be patient. You are WELL and WHOLE.
Much love always,
Angel
