My brother just had 7 bypasses—yes, 7. There’s nothing more humbling than begging God for a life that isn’t even your own. 🙏🏽 I was hanging on by a thread, waiting for updates, but God showed out! At 75, my brother is recovering like the warrior he is. ❤️‍🩹 This post is a check-in and a PSA: take care of the one body you’ve been gifted. Life is precious, y’all. Make it count. Thank you for all the birthday love—and to those who sent prayers for my brother, thank you. Fifty years of friendship and counting. 🌟 A few Fifty years of friendship and counting. 🌟 A few months ago, I was asked to be a relationship expert. I kind of chuckled because, to be honest, you're looking at my longest non-blood related relationship. And these kinds of relationships really matter! For those who've read my book, “Too Happy to be Sad Girl,” THIS is Annette – my partner in crime through it all: - 70s dress-up and TV-inspired games - 80s roommate (I'll leave it at that... iykyk) - 90s and early 2000s chaos of kids, schedules, and business Thank goodness for God, faith, and the pursuit of peace through truth-telling and tears. I planned to isolate, write, and heal in Tulum, but Annette's SOS changed everything. Healing alongside her reminded me that healthy relationships don't drain you – somehow, they recharge you. Instead of isolation, I chose exchange. Instead of writing, I chose play. My test retreat is days away. I'm tired but so light, confident that I am who I say I am. Life is good, and I'm savoring every bite. #friendship #healthyrelationships

Aging in our society is rough. Living a public life, can also be rough. Needless to say, aging publicly, is a f*king beast. Sooo, my best beauty advice is this…. Find your peace. There will be days that all your self care and healthy habits are on just right. But on all the other days. There is grace. There is empathy, forgiveness and love. All of which I learned to practice, like yoga or a favorite sport. I’ve debated filling in the lines between my eyes or on my forehead but so far, I’m at peace with letting them be. Accepting my lines doesn’t make me better than someone who cannot; it makes me, ME in 2023. The beauty of finding my peace is that unless asked, I keep out of the business of how others find theirs. #over50blogger #maturebeauty #proaging #findyourpeace
